Grading Curve Summary

Let’s face it: this was a tough challenge. Sure, you may have heard some before and for others the answers were easy. But, still, there were some real challengers in there. As a result, our grading is a little easier.

21 or More Correct = An “A.” Hey, this ain’t your first brain teaser rodeo.

15 – 20 Correct = A “B.” You’ve got a knack for this. Keep up the effort and you’ll be moving to the head of the class soon.

9 – 14 Correct = A “C.” For a test this tough, getting a fair amount right is right around the average score.

8 or Fewer Correct = Keep trying. No one said this would be easy. Completing the test shows us you have an interest. That means, with a little more practice you’ll be improving.

Tips For How To Solve Brain Teasers

  • Remember to spend some time and not blurt out the first answer that crosses your mind. Slow down. Brain teasers are designed to fool people. The most obvious answer is usually wrong. Think through your options.
  • Read through the question several times. If the question is asked of you, ask the person to repeat the question. Listen to each part of the question very carefully. If the question is long, make sure to listen to the very beginning carefully.
  • Use common sense. Don’t be misled by the information prior to the question.
  • Repeat the question out loud a couple of times before answering. The correct answer might come to you when you’re repeating the question.
  • Try to visualize the problem. With a pen and paper, diagram the problem as you hear it. By seeing the problem before you, it might highlight the answers you previously didn’t think of.
  • Have fun! Brain teasers are constructed to fool folks. If you’re fooled, don’t feel bad. Share the brainteasers with others and enjoy their attempts at correct answers.
